Fernanda Froes is a Brazilian visual artist born in Rio de Janeiro who has been residing in Miami, Florida, since 2017. After graduating in Graphic Design and Industrial Design from UERJ - Universidade Estadual do Rio de Janeiro, she established an extensive career as a designer and art director in both Brazilian and multinational advertising agencies. In 2020, she embarked on a Master's program in Visual Arts at the Miami Art Institute (MIUAD), a critical step that led her professional journey to undergo a significant transformation, shifting her focus from design to contemporary art. Her artistic trajectory took a new course as she delved into her master's degree, initiating an exploration of the connections between ecology and colonization, thereby emphasizing the vital importance of preserving the natural and cultural heritage of the Americas.
Froes' creative process initiates with drawing and unfolds across various media, encompassing painting, textile art, printmaking, text, and illustration. Her works have been featured in both solo and group exhibitions, including venues such as the Ancient Spanish Monastery, Feria Clandestina, Parodi Costume Collection, Brazilian Consulate in Miami, Doral Contemporary Art Museum, MIFA – Miami International Fine Art Museum, TIAC Handweaving Museum in Clayton - New York, and more recently, at Paris Design Week. Fernanda actively engages in art communities such as The 55 Project, Uncool Artist International Art Community, and FAMA (Fiber Artist Miami Association).
